Development of ecological low-energy standard houses by Thyholm Murer A/S
Troels Kildemoes Møller has been initiator of the "Thyholm House - project" which had its start-up in 1998. The primary goal in the project has been to develop a range of ecological low-energy houses with a typical Danish house design. Financial aspects have been keywords in the project as well - the idea has been to show people that the additional investment, mainly in improved insulation and heating equipment, is paid back through a remarkable reduction in energy costs. One of the Thyholm-houses has been chosen to the national project " "Experimental buildings with new types of building envelope structures" which is a project under the Energy Research Programme 2000 (EFP2000). The house has been constructed in Thyholm, and is built for MidtVest cooperative Housing Society. Building contractor is the company Thyholm Murer A/S. Detailed measurements was started up in autumn 2003 to validate the thermal performance of the house. The Thyholm-project has been sponsored by several Danish companies and organisation as Grundfoss (pumps), Nilan (ventilation), Rockwool (insulation), Danfoss (heating automatic), the Danish association of brick companies and the national Green Fund.
